Toddler
0-3 years

Enrolling now for Term 2, 2022!

Our Toddler program is open to all families in the area and is a wonderful way to get started in Montessori with your little one. These programs are facilitated by a Montessori AMI trained Director of Assistants to Infancy.

A parent attends the program for one morning per week with a specific age group. The 0-3 is a prepared environment of activities reflecting the Montessori philosophy to meet the needs of the child.

Parent education is also an important aspect of the program, to learn about your child’s development, and linking your home environment to the Montessori philosophy.

Toddler Transition (Beginning Term 2, 2022)
In the toddler transition class, the parents and their child meet once a week (one and half hours) in a prepared environment. This program offers the child the opportunity to explore the prepared environment and to explore the beginning of practical life activities, as well as ready themselves for the Parent Toddler Program.

Parent Toddler Program
The Parent Toddler Program is a two hour weekly session for parents and their toddlers who engage in a range of activities in an environment that is specially prepared for this toddler. This special environment is prepared for the child’s growing independence, self-esteem and supports the development of confidence and concentration.

Preschool
3-6 years

We offer a three-year program for children from 3 to 6 years of age from 8:30am to 12pm. We follow the AMI standard of children attending 4-5 days per week.

When your child is settled, the Directress will offer the option to enrol in the afternoon program from 12pm to 2.30pm.

A Montessori 3-6 year environment is created to match the developing needs of the children as they pass through this rapid period of amazing self-construction focusing on hands-on learning in both individual and small group lessons. The Montessori curriculum is designed to support social, creative, language, mathematical and physical development while fostering individual interests through science, geography, biology and more. Every material in a Montessori classroom supports an aspect of child development complimenting the child’s innate interests. Children can learn through their own experience and at their own pace.

Kindergarten at Montessori
(Extended Day)
During the third year at Lindfield Montessori Preschool (the Extended Day program, which aligns with the NSW Kindergarten curriculum), children attend five full days per week from 8.30am to 2.30pm. Lindfield Montessori operates for four terms per year, roughly following the NSW school term dates.

Lindfield Montessori Kindergarten program follows the NSW Education Standards Authority Kindergarten Syllabuses. Our specialised program combines both the NSW Kindergarten Syllabus with the Montessori methods for children in all the key learning areas; Mathematics, English, Science, Creative Arts, HSIE (Geography and History) and PDHPE.

The child now consolidates their knowledge gained from the first two years applying a high level of critical thinking. They are emerging abstract learners; their imagination is beginning to shape from their past experiences and they use creative thinking and problem solving instinctively.

As the child transitions into the Kindergarten year they are proud to be the leaders of the school. Their confidence grows and their knowledge is consolidated as they can take on the role of helping younger children, explaining concepts and sharing ideas. We encourage this independence and continue to support and guide the child for further education.
If your child is turning 5 prior to 31st July, or will turn 6 at any time in the year, they will be eligible to be a part of our first year of school program (kindergarten).
